After Hours Care
Cancellations and No Shows
Wentworth Health Partners Seacoast Arthritis & Osteoporosis Center patients may call the On-Call Provider directly at (603) 580-6737. For non-urgent issues, patients may leave a message in the general practice mailbox by calling the practice at (603) 742-6664 and staying on the line. Patients may also leave prescription refill requests after hours by calling the practice at (603) 742-6664 and pressing 33 for the Prescription Refill Line. Refills will be addressed the next business day.
We utilize HouseCalls, an automated appointment reminder system to notify patients of upcoming appointments, including all appointments with providers, lab services, and nurse visits. This is a HIPAA-compliant system that will only identify the patient by name and date of birth. The appointment details will only indicate the name of the practice or provider and date and time of the appointment. No information will be provided to indicate the reason for the visit to protect patient privacy. Patients will receive a call two business days in advance of their appointment. Calls are only made Monday - Friday between 1:00 PM - 4:30 PM. If the system is unable to reach a member of the household or to leave a voice mail message, the system will attempt to reach the patient again one business day in advance between 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM. If a member of the household is reached, he/she may confirm the appointment, cancel the appointment, or ask to be connected to the practice to immediately reschedule the appointment. If the system detects voice mail, the appointment information will be left in the message but the patient will be asked to contact the practice to confirm, cancel, or reschedule the appointment.
If you need to reschedule your appointment, please call our office. We do require 24-hours notice if you are unable to keep a scheduled appointment. It is our policy that after three (3) missed appointments we reserve the right to discharge you from our practice.
In the case of inclement weather, power outages or medical emergencies, patients with scheduled appointments will be contacted via our automated appointment reminder system, HouseCalls, at their primary listed phone number. If you have not received a practice closure message and question whether the practice is open, please call the Seacoast Arthritis & Osteoporosis Center at (603) 742-6664 prior to coming to your appointment. Please make every effort to arrive on time for your appointment if the practice is open during inclement weather. However, for patient safety, late arriving patients will be accommodated as best as possible. If the practice is closed, appointments will be automatically cancelled. Patients will be contacted to reschedule their appointments as soon as the practice re-opens. If you will be unable to make an appointment due to inclement weather, please call the Seacoast Arthritis & Osteoporosis Center at (603) 742-6664 to cancel your appointment.
Any patient arriving later than his/her actual scheduled appointment time will be considered late. For any late arrivals, the physician has the sole authority to determine if he/she will see the patient. If the provider is able to see the patient, he/she will be checked-in at that time and the visit will proceed as previously scheduled. If the provider is unable to see the patient at that time, the following options will be offered to the patient to assist with his/her medical needs. Patients with a same day appointment will be offered the option to be seen as time permits in the provider's schedule on that day. The patient will be given an approximate wait time and will be seen by the end of the business day if he/she chooses to wait. Providers and staff will make every effort to see patients that are late for a morning appointment prior to lunch and patients that are late for an afternoon appointment prior to the end of the business day. Patients with any appointment other than a same day appointment will be offered the option to reschedule the appointment for another date out of courtesy to other patients.
Patients are seen by scheduled appointment only. If a patient comes to the practice without an appointment, he/she will be triaged by the nurse and will either be seen if there is an urgent/emergent medical problem, referred to the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital Emergency Room, or scheduled for an appointment if it is not an urgent/emergent medical problem. Patients may have an extended wait if scheduled for a same day appointment since scheduled patients will receive priority.
